Some fun Easter projects!
But first, this is what we woke up to this morning. Michigan has had a very mild winter and hope this is not what is to follow for the next few months. I am ready for spring.
I was going through my basket of projects to be finished and came across a set of wings! That's what she was missing! Now she's not so plain!! But then I remembered....
a way to make small pom poms with a fork and decided this just may be the time to try that out. Now she is just as cute as the rest of her family!! Way to go, Chicky!!
One of my fav things to work on for
Easter is Easter Marshmallow Bunnies, a free pattern from Doni Speigle! I can't wait to get more colors to make them in but here are 3 of my first ones. And in this pic are a couple eggs I found patterns for. And on the left is a Wee Rabbit Egg Cozy. Free pattern from Lion Brand Yarn Company.
Now I wish I could find a good free pattern for a shamrock to crochet in thread to make pins for St. Patrick's Day. Anyone out there have one they would like to share.
What's on your hook today?? Or if you are not a hooker what would you like to see here??

But on to what I wanted to share today. Here is a family of chicks that I found at Fave Craft. It was a free pattern call Egg Cozy Crochet Pattern from Red Heart Yarn. I had fun creating them! From left to right, Mom, son, Dad and little sis. For some reason little sis looked so plain compared to the rest but decided to leave her as that until.......

Spring fever? Already?
It is only mid-February and I'm thinking of how to attract humming birds to my feeder. I know all the ins and outs already but I have not had much luck. I'm thinking there are too many seasoned humming bird feeders around here that they go to every year but nothing I have read says they come back to the same feeders as last year.
I have the perfect spot right off the window by my computer. I have flowering quince tree to attract them but I have only attracted 1 or 2 a year and they don't stay with us all summer. I know our camping probably has something to do with this. You need to change the nectar every 3-4 days and sometimes we are gone longer than that. We have some new neighbors and maybe they will take care of that problem this summer. They could even do it right over the fence w/o entering our yard and they also get to watch the hummers too from their windows.
Ustream has a couple baby hummers to watch right now in Orange County, California. I just re-found this site while searching for hints to attract hummers to my backyard. Phoebe and her babies Last year I followed this one and another one that had 3 in her nest, of which one was an orphan that was put in there for mom to feed.
Talking about spring, I love butterflies, they are probably in my top ten list to crochet! I finished one yesterday and hung it in my window with my hearts. See it there on the left? I need to find me some flowers to plant outside my window that that attract butterflies.
Spring Fever, ahh, yes, but back to reality and doing something productive around here like the dishes in the sink from breakfast.
I hope you enjoy your day! And maybe share a little of your "spring fever", especially if you live in one of the north-east states like I do.

I found a pattern for a "lego" afghan at All Things Bright and Beautiful.
but I decided to make a pillow instead for my grandson! I gave it to him yesterday, I wish I had taken a pic of him with it but maybe when we visit them this weekend I will remember and post it here!
And these hearts I found on another site http://thegreendragonfly.wordpress.com/free-crochet-patterns/ the creator of this pattern. I loved the garland they made for my mirror.

This and That
We thought we might see our granddaughter this weekend and she loves the crocheted clothes I make for her Polly Pocket dolls. They are so much easier to put on than those thin rubber ones that rip so easily. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to come over, ah well, hopefully next weekend!
I planned to make a pattern for the one on the left, even started it but as I was fitting it to her I forgot to write the directions down as I finished. And the yellow one is one of my favorites and wish I would have at least started to write the pattern so I may have been more inspired to finish them. I don't know how many people would even want them. If and when I start hearing about people that would like them I may consider the idea.
I know we will see a couple of our other grandkids next weekend that are stopping by on their trip back home.
Working on a heart currently. http://my-pattern.blogspot.com/210/01/valentine-basket-wave-sachet.htmlI'll post a pic if I figure it all out. I am using worsted weight yarn so it is going to be a big heart. May use it for a purse for one of my granddaughter's 18-inch doll.
If it works out I plan to crochet it with crochet thread for a smaller version.
Sun is shining
Time to find a chair
that the sun is lighting
and crochet and relax.
Have a good one.
