My roses in August! The one peaking up above all the rest just seemed to beg to be picked so it ended up on my dining room table after I took these pics.
I made it for a reminder to my aunt who turned 80
this month and went on a hot air balloon ride.
There is a campground close to us. My aunt and her daughter booked a balloon ride really close to the campground so we all went camping and they did their balloon ride one beautiful morning, bright and early.
Most of the pics I took were on their cameras but I did manage to get a few on my phone.

I captured the pics below a couple days later at the campground. Unfortunately my aunt was unable to skim the lake on her ride but like the pilot said the wind is almost completely in control and the wind on my aunt's day wouldn't cooperate and allow them to do
this. But probably just as well since my aunt is afraid of the water.
Starting my winter hats for friends and family. I love Liz McQueen's patterns. This one is called Old School Beanie. You can find her patterns here. They look complicated but they really are not because Liz writes them out so well. Last year I made several from the "Brainwave" pattern.
Gosh, I miss our now defunct hot air balloon festival! It would have been this coming weekend. Your pictures bring back so many wonderful memories. I've had a snowflake idea for a long time that I just haven't sat still lung enough to work up. Your wonderful hot air balloon may be just the spark of motivation I've been needing!
