Too much time on my hands?

You'd think I had nothing to do!  But believe me the house could use some of my cleaning skills, I have a couple crochet projects that need finishing, I could be decorating or baking for Christmas.

But no, here I sit on the computer and found another interesting site.  Anyone have experience with Listia?  I signed up and bid for a couple things but haven't set up anything to auction off of my own.  It is supposed to be free credits earned by auctioning off for points your own stuff but they start you off with some free auction points.  At this point I have bid on a WalMart giftcard and some yarn.  I'll let you know how my experiences go with this new website.  Here is the link for it if you are interested.  http://www.listia.com/signup/1038090

We got our first snow of the winter season, most of the schools were closed.  Only 4 inches of snow but lots of rain before the snow so probably some ice under that snow.  Sorry it is so dark, it was taken before sunrise this morning.
Husband feeding the birds!

Also bought some new blue LED lights for decorating this year so I tried them on my fig tree plant along with my some of my crocheted snowflakes.....wondering if I could get away with this for my Christmas tree.  I think not but it was fun.  BTW, most of my snowflake patterns come from Snowcatcher's blog.  She posts a new snowflake pattern or more each Monday.  http://www.snowcatcher.net/

Well, I am going to go crochet for a bit.  Have a great day!

Have you tried EBATES?

My husband saw this EBATES on Good Morning America, supposed to be a good site to buy and get money back.  I signed up but wondered if any of you have tried it and what you think. Here is the site address.

Also, I put some of my crocheted items on Ebay, hoping I get some sales so I can crochet some more stuff. Just go to Ebay.com and find me, justme6 is my seller name.

Here are three of my items I have for sale.

Have my new computer.

Well, I have my new computer.  I went from a Mac to a PC so trying to adjust.  I didn't think it would be so difficult since I had worked on PCs at my job as a school secretary and at home for years.  But I had a Mac for 9 years and loved it.  Why did I go to a PC??  Price!  but believe me if I'd had the money a Mac would be my choice, maybe I'll hit the lottery!!

We had a great Thanksgiving, had a few family members over and had a great meal!  We had a ham and no stuffing, never will do that again.  Turkey or no turkey there will be stuffing on the table next Thanksgiving.

I have finished a few hats since last I posted.  And have a few orders for a few more.  Check out my Etsy account if you need a hat or other crocheted items.  You could even leave a comment here if you have something in mind that you don't see at my etsy.

And the sweater our cat, Allison, is "modeling" is for my cousin's dachshund, Odie!

Today we are having family over for cake and ice cream for my granddaughter's 6th birthday.  They sure grow up fast, way too fast!  Happy Birthday Joslyn!

This is for Snowcatcher!  She wanted to see the turkey I crocheted.  I like how he turned out except plan on doing different eyes for him.  The beads I chose are too small.

I hope everyone has a great day!!  Let me know how your Christmas shopping is going.  Did anyone brave the Black Friday deals??

computer crash is no fun

My Mini Mac gave out on me again, this is the second time and I think it is just time for a bigger computer.

The most difficult part for me is the loss of email addresses.  Just this morning I saw a crocheted frog and thought  about my friend Nancy who collects frogs and I went to send her a quick email.  UGH, I don't have her email, I am hoping it is somewhere in my paperwork mess, you know the little pieces of paper that you write things on and sometimes keep a few for years but with my luck that is the day that I was efficient and put her address into my email address book and threw the paper away.  The sad part is this is a friend I had just recently reconnected with at the local Meijers store.  I hope she emails me soon and that would give me her email address a lot easier than looking through my pile of  "paperwork"!

One of my crochet projects this week was a sweater for my cousin's new puppy, a cute little dachshund.  Allison, our feisty old cat, finally cooperated and "modeled" the sweater.  I was really afraid that she would dash off and I would never find the sweater in one piece again.

I am using my son's laptop and you would not believe how long it took me to post the above pictures.  I now know how new computer users feel.  I don't want to mess this computer up any more than it already is and don't want to take up too much of his memory.

I'm now going to get on my band wagon but I think it is a very important subject that needs to be said.  I am a melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer(I hate that description but it is too true), survivor!  I have been cancer-free for 15 years but  I recently had a "spot" removed from the top of my head that had been bothering me for awhile  and the report came back as precancerous.  Now what is precancer??  Well from what I read on WebMD it is either something that usually turns into cancer or actually had a few cancer cells but very confined.  The good news for me is it usually doesn't go on to be melanoma but squamous cell which isn't the most deadly form of skin cancer but can be if left long enough.  Either way the word cancer reminds me to wear my sun screen and now wear a hat whenever outside.  And now I just reminded you to do the same.

I'm sorry if this post seems kind of rambling or choppy but this morning seems to be one of my days where multiple sclerosis is messing with my word search in my head.  The words I want to use seem to be right on the tip of tongue but just won't materialize so I can put them on here.  Another cup of coffee just might help so I will close this for now.

Have a great fall day!!

November already??

I'm hoping this isn't the beginning of just a once a month blog!

We went camping the last weekend in October, cold but fun!  I got a request for a sweater for a dachshund and little worried about that.  Last sweater I made for a dog got cut before I had left the driveway because mother-in-law couldn't figure out how to slip it on her Chihuahua.  Anyone that crochets knows that cannot be done with a crocheted item without disastrous results.  I know the dachshund's owner won't do that!

My granddaughter just became a big sister so I made her little brother a football hat.  She went on and on about how cute it is, she is 6 so I value her opinion on things like that.  :)  I made her promise to get a pic of her and her brother in the hat for me.  Her brother is not my grandson but I bet I see lots of him and hear lots of stories.  She said she already knows that when he starts walking none of her stuff will be safe.  I told her I was a big sister to 5 siblings and she just shook her head in disbelief and I think a little sympathy I think.  LOL

Unfortunately I lost some pictures and videos in the crash but from a similar incident I had learned to back them up often so didn't lose all of them just the most recent and some of them are on FaceBook and YouTube.  Whew!!

A high school friend that I have seen very seldom in the many years since we graduated will be visiting Michigan from California this month!  Her and I were best of friends back then and it has been fun renewing that friendship on facebook, email and phone lately.  I know she plans to spend a few days with me while she is here for Thanksgiving with her extended family.  I can't wait, should be loads of fun!

When I get my new computer I will post pics of her visit and any new crocheted items I may have made recently.

I might even try to steal some from my FaceBook to post along with this.

Have a great week and hope to see you on here more often then I have done recently!
